Saffordites are a rare Tektite/Glass found in Arizona. Saffordites usually have the crater-looking surface that is found on most tektites however they belong to the obsidian family. They usually look brown to grey with no light behind them. When they are backlit fascinating lines, patterns, and bubbles appear within the stone. The color of them when backlit can range from lavender to brown, to grey.
