This old number 8 is naturally hard. Some of this material may have a surface absorbent on it. This material is not stabilized. The mine where these stones originated actually produced some of the biggest nuggets found to this day. This parcel has already been trimmed and tested for fractures. Each stone should be able to cut a cabochon between ring size to pendant size. The material is hard and not prone to breaking even without a treatment or backing.
